Good bye to one our favorite farm chickens, a 9 or 10 year old black australorp named Oreo, who we rescued a few years ago. Oreo was friendly and didn't mind being held. We will never forget how she gave one refugee her first ever experience seeing a chicken. Oreo patiently sat on her lap as she got stroked over and over, helping her new friend feel calm and loved. Oreo died of natural causes after a long life, and we are grateful for her gentle interactions with all the humans she touched. Rest in peace, Oreo!
Thank you, partners: Imagine That Therapy, Children's Home Society of Idaho, Goodheart Tech, Center for Healing and Expression, Jenelle Carberry Yoga, Joni Cornell, National Charity League, Eastwind Community Church, Girl Scouts of Silver Sage, Rotary Club, St Lukes Cancer Research Team, Boise Casade, and many more volunteers!
